ABOUT
Hi there!

How I Started
The beginning of my musical journey
Some of my earliest memories include begging my parents to let me play the violin. My mom, a piano teacher, suggested I learn piano first.
Piano was fun, but when I was eight, I finally picked up a violin. I was overjoyed, and I played as often as I could.
A few years later, I heard a viola. I immediately fell in love with the C string, and began teaching myself the next day. I instantly knew the viola was the right instrument for me, and I haven't looked back since.
Always Learning
Through high school, I performed in my local youth orchestra, and even won the concerto competition my senior year! I knew music was what I wanted to do, and I went off to Shenandoah Conservatory to major in viola performance.
There, I studied with Doris Lederer who taught me more than I could ever put into words, but especially how to teach myself and others. I carry her ideas into every lesson I teach.
After graduation, I got my Master of Music degree at The Hartt School, where I studied with Rita Porfiris. Here, I honed my viola playing, and learned even more about how I want to teach others.
Now I help others!
I share my passion for music daily by teaching private lessons and college audition check-ins!
I love helping musicians get where they want to go, whether that's youth symphony, conservatory, or grad school.
I want to help you feel prepared to go wherever your musical journey takes you!
